Step 8 - Sequencer Navigation

Scrubing

To scrub in the Sequencer, you just have to move the cursor in the area at the top:

As explained earlier, when creating a new Camera Actor + Plane, you will automatically pilot the newly created Camera. However, if you scrub the cursor in the Sequencer, you will keep the focus on the piloted Camera and won’t other Camera views.

To automatically change the Camera view, you must enable the camera icon in your Board Sequence:

By the way, clicking on each Section will automatically move the cursor to the 1st frame of the Shot or Board.

Changing Shot Tracks’ Timing

In the lesson Step 5 - More Drawings, we saw how to move Drawings to change their exposure time. In fact, you can also affect the duration of Tracks. to do so, hover the mouse at the beginning or the end of a Track to be displayed a double arrow which will allow you to extend or reduce the duration.

You will notice that changing the duration of a Track will automatically affect the duration of neighbouring Tracks to prevent gaps between two Sections.

View Range

The view range can be found at the bottom of the Sequencer, under Tracks.

../_images/play-viewrange.png

The two durations at the tip of the view range (in this example: -018 and 0236) shows the total duration of the Sequencer.

The two other durations (in this example: 0007 and 0211) shows the range viewed in the Sequencer.

All these durations can be changed by hand.

Then, you can also play with the grey bar to increase or decrease the view range.

You can also use the key [Home] on your keyboard to autmatically display the whole storyboard and its different Sections.

Arranging Sections

By default, all Sections will be arranged on a single row. However, you can change this with a right click on the Board Sequence Track and select Arrange sections.

Moving Shots

If you want to change the order of the Shots in your Board Track, you can simply select the Shot of your choice, then drag and drop it. Other Shots will automatically move and prevent gaps between two Sections.
