I don't own Unreal Engine
FIY : Unreal Engine can be used for free as long as your gains with UE are under 3k euros / quarter.
So, feel free to download it > https://www.unrealengine.com/
(you must create an account though)

Regarding the brush questions : yes, we want the plugin capable of simulating natural media, at least for brushes like pencils, pen, airbrush, charcoal, so we're doing our very best to achieve such results. If you're wondering whether we will also be able to manage "physical" renders (liquid drain, dryness...), some things that can be emulated (like drain), and some cannot (yet).

I'm working on a new video in which you can see how to create a brush with Iliad from the very beginning, from a basic stamp to a dual brush. Hopefully it will help to understand the mechanism.

Great! I'm looking forward to the video.
I'm going to download UE to play around with. Thanks for the tip!

Hello, staffs of Praxinos.
I don't know much about Unreal Engine 4, so I'd like to investigate first.
I look forward to your activities.

Hi and welcome here !

UE4 is incredibly versatile, but its learning curve is not quite linear. You can't start UE4 and think "Let's play" or you will be in an impasse quickly.
The best way to discover it is to have a project in mind (for instance "I want to make a 2D-scrolling game"). Then, find the good tutorials (Youtube + Unreal Academy) and you can progress step by step.

This is what we did for Annecy : we wanted to prove it is possible to properly mix 2D and 3D within Unreal Engine by doing an animation of hands playing with a 3D Rubik's Cube. It's been a long work, but It was worth it :

That looks promising.
The cube was modeled in UE? Or was it imported as a model?

The cube was one of my first experiment with blueprints.
Antoine created the 2D animations : hands, bear and crane.
Elodie composited everything in Unreal Engine timeline : the sequencer

I noticed just now that the bear and crane are animated. Very nice!

3D realtime : you can put a 2D animation anywhere on a 3D mesh. ;)

Elodie and Fabrice
Thank you for replying to the post.
I saw a 2D animation video moving in a cube.
It is an interesting attempt.
Because we can not judge whether the functions of Illiad itself have a direct effect on 2D animation creators,
First of all, I would like to investigate if Unreal Engine 4 will be useful for our work.
